To see hidden and system files, use the Folder Options tool in the Windows Control Panel:
- To open Control Panel, click Start and then click Control Panel. If your computer is set up in Classic view using the more familiar Start menu, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel;
- Double-click the Folder Options entry;
- In the Folder Options dialog box select tab View, scroll through the Advanced Settings list, select Show hidden files and folders and click Apply.
